Help!

Fellow Daynoter John Dominik, who has been out of a job for awhile, is asking for some help. Apparently, according to his Friday's post, his house is now in foreclosure. Obviously, whatever help you can provide needs to be done as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance for whatever assistance you can provide to him.

I feel for John, having been a reader of the "Daynoters" for several years now, but the problem I have with his "Problem" is that he has been un-willing to follow to where jobs are. I've moved 4 times in my life to better my job and family's lifestyle. Each move proved to be a better thing. It wasn't fun, but my 3 kids all think us for the expericences they got from the moves. I'm retired now and looking back I'd do it again, if it would help me to provide for my family.

DanS:

Carl,

I am sorry to say that my first impression of John's situation was similar
to yours. I mean, unemployment in many areas is at all time lows.
Employers are scrambling to fill jobs.

And yet, John can't seem to find a job. Any kind of job. After so many
months. Under these conditions, one logically has to question whether the
problem is with John. As you say, if you can't find something near you,
move. Or take two part-time jobs. Or whatever it takes to keep a roof
over your head and food on the table.

That said, even though we may think we know John well from his writings,
we don't really know what his situation is. Perhaps he has been trying to
do these very things. Or maybe there are reasons why he can't. I don't
know.

All I know is he needs help, now. So, I'm going to try to help. A little.
But with the understanding that this is all that I'm going to do and that,
in fact, it is now up to him to make the hard decisions so he can provide
for his family.

Aloha - Dan
